Morrowind Modding 2015 – Year in Review Trailer

In 2015 Morrowind turned 13 years old, yet instead of slowing down, the Morrowind modding community was more active in 2015 than in 2014, releasing over 500 new mods created by hundreds of different modders! From new dungeons to landmasses, quests, and everything in between, 2015 was an extremely active year for the community! And not only that, 2015 saw the release of several major projects, like Lyithdonea – The Azurian Isles and Tamriel Rebuilt’s Almalexia, adding countless hours of new content to the game, and projects like ModTown 2015 promise to bring much more in 2016! Even after 13 years, there’s still a lot of love being poured into this amazing game!

This trailer provides a mere snapshot of the mods released in 2015, and we couldn’t possibly cover all of them, but we’ve covered as many as we could in under four minutes!

Top Ten Morrowind Mods of 2015

Since it’s that time of year again when everyone begins ranking their favorite things from the past year, I thought I’d join in with a Top Ten Morrowind Mods of 2015 list. Now, to state the obvious this is my personal top ten list of mods from 2015, and these are based solely on mods I’ve actually played and enjoyed, so your favorite mods from 2015 may be completely different from mine, since there were nearly 500 mods released in the last year and I couldn’t possibly play them all.

But in any event, do feel free to share your own top ten list of Morrowind mods from 2015, and let me know how much you agree/disagree with the mod selections included in this video.

Morrowind Mod of the Month – November 2015

Today we have the seventh episode of our Mod of the Month series, celebrating the best mods from November 2015. The idea behind this series is to release a video every month honoring the best mods released in that particular month, as decided by popular vote and also in part by my own personal decisions.

You can vote for the Mod of the Month for December here.

Our mod of the month for November 2015 is Cliffracer Replacer By PeterBitt and Pherim, the second in the creature replacer series, and incidentally, the second time that PeterBitt and Pherim have won the Mod of the Month award for one of their creations! With the Cliffracer Replacer, you can finally see the most iconic demon of all Morrowind brought to life in astonishing detail, with translucent vein-y wings and beady eyes full of hate. Now you can truly appreciate how much these flying menaces desire your demise!

Second choice for mod of the month is Imperial Houses and Forts Retexture – Ordo Arkitektora By Tyddy, a beautiful and lore-friendly high resolution texture replacer that completely overhauls Imperial settlements, bringing out some absolutely fantastic details in the shops, houses, taverns, walls, and castles of the Empire while staying true to vanilla Morrowind’s color-scheme. It’s a visual treat that goes a long way to update the game’s textures and well worth checking out.

Finally, our third choice for mod of the month is JiFFY Morrowind UI Revamped By Jeclxohko_jiffymm, a new addition to the rather slim pickings of Morrowind UI mods, and JiFFY Morrowind UI Revamped comes with an absolute ton of options, including two different themes to choose from, optional cursors, and much more so that you can truly customize your UI playing experience, making the game much easier on the eyes with high-resolution windows and text.

Morrowind ModTown 2015 – The Official 2016 Trailer

Morrowind ModTown 2015, a project for the community, by the community, celebrating the amazing modding community that we have here for Morrowind! The first ModTown in nearly a decade, ModTown 2015 aims to bring everyone together, modders and non-modders alike, to build a monument to our wonderful Morrowind Modding Community that’ll stand the test of time and celebrate the amazing things we can accomplish when we all work to build one massive mod!

ModTown 2015 aims to provide a unique and creative experience for all involved, with dozens of quests, dungeons, and exciting new activities for the player to do! And you don’t need to be a modder to help out! All you need to do is come up with ideas, provide creative writing, or generate discussion! There’s plenty for everyone to get involved and make ModTown 2015 a reality!

From massive epic sized dungeons, to Dwemer airships that ply the skies, ModTown 2015 is all about the creative accomplishments that modders can make, and there are no limits to what you can do, whether you build a floating tower, or construct dungeons made out of bones, or create an island of fire and ice, all are welcome in ModTown 2015! Embrace the madness, join us in unleashing one of the most creative and insane modding projects to be made for Morrowind!

You can learn more about this project, and how to help out, at our forums, and you can check out ourscreenshot gallery for progress on the project! Want to play the current build of ModTown? You’ll find the current version available here (but needless to say it’s incomplete).

Morrowind Mod of the Month – October 2015

Today we have the sixth episode of our Mod of the Month series, late as always, but still celebrating the best mods from October 2015. The idea behind this series is to release a video every month honoring the best mods released in that particular month, as decided by popular vote and also in part by my own personal decisions.

You can vote for the Mod of the Month for November here.

Our mod of the month for October 2015 is Vegtabill’s Threads of the Webspinner by Vegtabill, a simple yet extremely useful mod that adds in hints regarding the various Sanguine items in Morrowind that you must find for the Morag Tong faction questline, but Vegtabill has done this in such a way that the hints blend in almost perfectly with vanilla Morrowind content and feel like a natural extension of the game rather than an intrusive mod.

Second choice for mod of the month is Tympany by Illuminiel, a very unique and well crafted mod that does something that, quite possibly, has never been done before in Morrowind, adding in new gameplay elements, a new stylish intro movie, and some very curious comedic pieces to your playing experience in the land of the Dunmer. You’ll also get to continue Jiub’s story as a part of this mod, and take advantage of a pacifist style play-through.

Finally, our third choice for mod of the month is WonderWind by King Moyer (aka TrulyOriginalArtCom), a massive underground dungeon complex composed of multiple large-scale caverns that could practically be considered a landmass onto itself. From frozen Daedric ruins to massive glaciers, deadly dungeons, and ice-hewn towns deep below the surface of Solstheim, you’ll find quite a lot of cool stuff to see in the mystical lands of WonderWind.
