Morrowind Modding Tutorials – How to Install Mods

For someone new to installing mods, it can be somewhat difficult to figure out where to start with adding new Morrowind mods to their savegame, or even where to get mods in the first place. In order to help out with all of that, I’ve created this first episode of Morrowind Modding Tutorials to try and explain everything you need to know about installing Morrowind mods safely and with the smallest likelihood of running into bugs, errors or mod conflicts.

In this video we go over the basics of how to install mods in a variety of different ways, as well as how to install and use some of the utilities out there that’ll make your life easier. We also cover a number of additional applications that will make your Morrowind gameplay experience run smoother.

Morrowind Modding Podcasts – Episode One

Download Audio-Podcast here.

Morrowind Modding Podcasts aims to introduce a new kind of modding discussion, one never before seen in any modding community, featuring a casual yet intellectual series of podcasts based around a panel of five modders and a particular set of topics covered in each episode. Each podcast will be hosted by Darkelfguy (myself) and feature four modders from around the community, and we’re aiming to get a diverse group for each episode, with new modders, popular modders, province modders, and modders from all walks of life contributing to a discussion on the state of modding, their creative practices, and much more in every podcast!

For our very first podcast, we have a panel of some very talented modders, including Darknut (author of Greater Dwemer Ruins), Melchior Dahrk (project lead for Lyithdonea), Stuporstar (author of Uvirith’s Legacy), and Trainwiz (author of Sotha Sil Expanded). During this podcast we discuss a number of important topics related to the community, including how to deal with feedback, the importance of modder collaboration, and paid mods. Keep in mind that this podcast was originally recorded on April 28th, a day after the paid mods announcement, so some of the information found here is somewhat out of date (and I do apologize for the delay in getting this podcast out!)

Morrowind Modathon – The Lucky Pick

In the back-ash city of Maar Gan, a Bosmer has something to trade, a special pick-axe that can point you to mysterious treasures all over Vvardenfell. Not only that, but as you use this mysterious pick axe and find treasure, the items you’ll find will gradually become more valuable over time. Soon you can fill your coffers, but only if you follow the pick axe from one end of Vvardenfell to the next!

The Lucky Pick was released by Danjb on May 29th as part of the Morrowind May Modathon 2015 competition, and it’s one of three random drawing winners for the last week of May. Morrowind Modathon – Arkngthand 2.0

One of the most prominent and best known dungeons in Morrowind is the Dwemer citadel of Arkngthand, an ancient ruin that has bested even the most well equipped players trying to find that blasted Dwemer Puzzle Box. Well, no more! With Arkngthand 2.0, this Dwemer fortress has been reborn with a new, much more detailed layout that more logically places certain important quest items. Not only that, but it also adds in new dwemer equipment, expands the dungeon slightly with new paths and chambers, and vastly re-arranges the rooms of old Arkngthand so even experienced players will find something new to explore.

Arkngthand 2.0 was released by Ragox on May 24th as part of the Morrowind May Modathon 2015 competition, and it’s one of three random drawing winners for the last week of May. All winners of Morrowind Modathon get free games, trailers and independent showcases of their mods on Morrowind Modding Showcases!

Morrowind Modathon – Love in the Time of Daedra

Rumors abound of an ancient shrine dedicated to Hermaeus Mora, hidden somewhere the world has forgotten. From these rumors, four stories arise involving a variety of characters. Motivated by Pride, Greed, Remorse, Vengeance, Justice, Vindication and Love, each of these characters has a part to play in this tapestry of stories, but which part they’ll play and what ultimate fate they’ll find in the tentacle-like clutches of Hermaeus Mora remains only for you to decide. From epic adventure to fully fleshed out tales of tragedy, you’ll find it all with Love in the Time of Daedra.

Love in the Time of Daedra was released by HangHimHigher on May 25th as part of the Morrowind May Modathon 2015 competition, and it’s one of three random drawing winners for the last week of May.
