General Discussion / TAL is shutting down

My PC is dead. The motherboard has failed, so I need to shut TAL down and take what I pay in hosting fees and put it towards a new PC. We have three active projects. The team members have been notified via PM. One of the projects, the Unofficial Morrowind Patch, will be moving to AFK Mods.

Even before I got to this point, I wanted to find a new host for the wikis. Vorians spoke to Enodoc and he has agreed to host our wikis on the UESP wiki farm. He's just waiting for me to give him the backups.

I need to find a shared hosting service for my cattery site, so I may resurrect the forums in some form in the future. We are working on developing games for mobile, so TAL might be rebranded and repurposed. It might be fun to return to modding when TES VI is released.

General Discussion / General Feedback

Why not have a general feedback thread there people can ask about a feature or post a suggestion.

I wonder if this forum allows guests to be able post and if that's possible then I strongly suggest that to disallow guests to post, unless it is in a specific subforum for a short period of time e.g next Morrowind Mod Town event.

Modding Tutorials / How to do it yourself in the Enchanted Editor

Reposted from GHF (I know it's a MMH link and that's due to the current server issue on GHF)

I will skip the first post due for asking a question and below is the answer.

After a while I figure it out how to do it yourself in EE, so I thought to share what I did.

1.  Load a gamesave into EE
2.  Locate the spell you want to change the name for
3.  Change the name and make sure the entry is checked to the left
4.  Save the changes into the gamesave and exit EE
5.  Repeat these steps, 1 to 4, if you want to change the name for more than one spell

Launch Morrowind and see the recent changes in-game.

Should you get a CTD then start over with the backup save and re-save the corrupted gamesave and exit.  Then launch Morrowind and load the re-saved gamesave, just to see if that gamesave is okay.

Remember, before you change a name for a spell in EE make sure you have at least one more gamesave in exactly the same cell as the gamesave you want to edit in EE.  Just in case things goes wrong.

I found the picture.

A few years ago I use both DEG's Redaynia Village, I can't play Morrowind without using this mod, and the Dockside Clutter mod.

What I notice in-game is that DEG's mod has a minor conflict with the Dockside Clutter mod in Dagon Fel when using both mods and I don't think changing loadorder will help to avoid this mod conflict.

I know I took a picture to show the conflict, but I haven't found it yet.  I'll post the picture later when I find it.

FYI  Today I installed MCP 2.4 and after I applied the selected patches I got a suprise.

Previously, when installing the patches in MCP the user always get the "BSA's redated" message, but now I also got this "4 Gb Patch applied" message.  So the 4 Gb Patch doesn't need to be execute when using MCP 2.4.

I posted here a quick guide for MGE about installing, reinstalling and uninstalling MGE, which will work just fine for MGE-XE just replace MGE with MGE-XE.

Other Games / Re: Recent games you've been playing

Mount and Blade: Warband, Medieval II: Total War, Civilization: III. No particular order, of course. I love the Full Invasion 2 mod for Warband, and the campaigns in Medieval II are fun (colonizing Brazil as the Byzantine/Eastern Roman Empire, for example), and I have been playing Civilization III for years, also have a mod I've been developing for it that spices it up nicely. There is Morrowind too, of course!
I too like to play a Total War game and right now I am playing Medieval Total War, but in contrast to you I don't like Medieval 2 Total War much due for the messed up time frame in-game e.g one season is 2 year instead of the opposite 2 seasons in one year.

I also like to play Sid Meier's Civilization game series now and then.  My favorite Civ game is Civilization 2.
