Morrowind ModTown 2015 – The November Progress Video

Today we have the third major progress update for ModTown 2015, showing off a ton of the work that we’ve been doing since October, including a number of modder plots, new models, dungeons, and new locations to explore! Don’t forget, ModTown 2015 has been pushed back to Spring of 2016, so there’s still plenty of time to join in on the project, everyone’s more than welcome!

For those who don’t know, ModTown 2015 is a project for the Community, by the Community, celebrating the Community! The first ModTown in nearly a decade, ModTown 2015 aims to bring everyone together, modders and non-modders alike, to build a monument to our wonderful Morrowind Modding Community that’ll stand the test of time and celebrate the amazing things we can accomplish when we all work to build one massive mod!

ModTown 2015 aims to provide a unique and creative experience for all involved, with dozens of quests, dungeons, and exciting new activities for the player to do! And you don’t need to be a modder to help out! All you need to do is come up with ideas, provide creative writing, or generate discussion! There’s plenty for everyone to get involved and make ModTown 2015 a reality!

You can learn more about this project, and how to help out, at our forums here, and you can also find a ton of screenshots from the project on our gallery.

Visions of Morrowind – Dagon Fel Trailer

Dagon Fel, a city mired in the mixture of old and new, with Imperial dwellings springing up amidst the ruins of ancient Dwemeri settlements. This quaint and quiet little town on Vvardenfell’s northern reaches is perhaps the one place that captures so perfectly the essence of Morrowind. Thick in atmosphere and history, Dagon Fel calls to adventurers and explorers far and wide to scale and delve the ruins that surround this humble city, sitting at the end of the world and the end of civilization itself. Beyond these meager shacks lies danger and the wilds of an untamed land rife with the relics of the past, not to mention the beauty of an alien world come alive with many strange and unique sights to see.

There are many visions and versions of Dagon Fel, as one might expect from a city that so conjures the imagination. From minor alterations and small added details, to full on overhauls that change the architectural style and makeup of this fair town, to epic additions that enhance the visual flair of Dagon Fel’s surroundings. All of these are both different cities and the same, for there are many visions of Dagon Fel, and all are equally true and real. Which is the true Dagon Fel for you, however, is entirely for you to decide!

Visions of Morrowind is a new trailer series designed not to look at just one mod, but several mods that make or change certain cities and landscapes in Morrowind. Combining footage of each version and editing it all together, you can see the many visions that modders have for this amazing game that inspires so much for the imagination, and from there you can decide which vision best fits your needs for your own game, assuming you don’t just decide to make your own unique vision for yourself! If you have any suggestions for what town or city to cover next, please leave a comment below and I’ll get to it in the next trailer!

In this trailer, we take a look at four different versions of Dagon Fel provided by four different mods, as listed below. Please note that, obviously, all of these mods conflict with each other and CANNOT be played at the same time on the same savegame.

Modder’s Kickstarter Corner – Abacus

Greetings and welcome to the first episode of the Modder’s Kickstarter Corner, a series dedicated to looking at and supporting modder projects outside the realm of modding itself, such as game design and development, novel writing, and other projects of that nature. Morrowind Modding Showcases as a channel has been dedicated since Day 1 to the promotion and support of mods, modding, and modders, and really this is just a continuation of that, since modders are often very creative people, it comes as no surprise that they often have creative projects outside of modding, and I want to use the channel to help support those projects and those modders and help them realize their dreams.

In this first episode, we’re looking at Danjb’s Kickstarter for a new 2d action platformer PC game called Abacus, a game already fairly along in the development which just needs that final push towards release. With a wide array of features, such as multiplayer support, deathmatch, co-op, story mode, and a ton of cool retro-style music tracks, there’s plenty of reasons to go ahead and throw a few pounds or dollars toward the project and help make sure it sees a release!

You can check out Abacus today on Kickstarter here

And you can see some of Danjb’s videos for the game here

Thanks for watching, and if you’re a modder with a project you need help promoting, please do let me know, the resources and tools of this channel are here to support modders with all of their amazing creations!

Morrowind Mod of the Month – September 2015

Today we have the fifth episode of our Mod of the Month series, late yet again, but still celebrating the best mods from September 2015. The idea behind this series is to release a video every month honoring the best mods released in that particular month, as decided by popular vote and also in part by my own personal decisions.

You can vote for the Mod of the Month for October here.

Our mod of the month for September 2015 is Dunmer Nobles Overhaul by Ivolga (Aoimevelho), a fantastic mod that completely changes the way Dunmeri households look in vanilla Morrowind, adding in creative and stylish new hair and clothing styles that help the nobles of Morrowind stand out, as well as including random noble NPCs that you’ll find in various cities.

Second choice for mod of the month is The City of Balmora by Symbiote Dinosaur, another overhaul of Balmora that seeks to add more new details, buildings, and other misc items to make this great city of Hlaalu come to life, and it’s a great alternative to the other Balmora overhauls out there if you’re still in the market for that sort of thing.

Finally, our third choice for mod of the month is Bal Isra annex by Bruno13069, a simple stronghold expansion mod for Great House Redoran that adds a single new building that sort of acts as hub for services at Bal Isra with a number of NPC vendors and trainers, as well as some space for you to use for your own purposes.

The music in this video is from Morrowind Music Overdose by Jon Babb.
