NPC and Book Creation / Re: [NPC] Dining Hall NPC's
« on: July 23, 2016, 01:17:33 PM »
Here you go. If you have any questions, let me know.

[Greetings] Greetings friend! You look tired, maybe you would want to try sweet moonsugar, yes? Va'Krin is willing to share.

[Moonsugar]: Ahh, Va'Krin is glad you asked. Khajiit is happy to help! (Gives player one moonsugar)
(If the player clicks the [Moonsugar] topic again)- Va'Krin would love to give everyone as much sweet sugar as they wanted, but Khajiit only has so much.

[Va'Krin] Va'Krin loves moonsugar, and he dreams of sharing his love with everybody, but those fools won't let him in the kitchens!

[Kitchens] Yes, can you believe it? They say Va'Krin just "gets in the way". This one had to sneak in last night so he could add moonsugar to the meats! He was nearly caught too. Khajiit had to rush out before he could finish. What nonsense. . .

[Solsthiem] They say it's a land covered in snow as white as sugar. What a glorious place it must be!

I got one. How about a capricious khajiit named Va'Krin who loves sharing the wonders of moon sugar. He doesn't understand what these people have against the sweet sugar, so he wants to just slip a little bit into the food. Just to show everyone what their missing!

He's willing to share with the player too by giving the player a free sample, if he/she asks about the topic of moon sugar. . .

Got any questions, let me know  ;D

I like! Definitely is interesting. I will add him to the Dining Hall. Do you wish to write his dialogue (type/message it to me) or do you want me to do it? I will be the one implementing it in the Dining Hall but you can still write the dialogue if you would like.

I'll write the dialogue and post it on the thread. You got modding to worry about.

Construction Set / Creating Custom Assets?
« on: June 26, 2016, 07:09:57 PM »
Hey guys, I was wondering what programs are recommended for creating custom meshes and textures for Morrowind. I've played around with modeling programs like sketchup and sculptris, but I would assume there would be something that would work better with Morrowind. Also, I don't know of any programs that make textures off the top of my head, unless one can simply use Photoshop or something. Any place you guys can point me?

Modder Claims / Re: [Modder Claim] Plot 36- ShylyMrWolf
« on: June 22, 2016, 11:57:34 PM »
Just want to say that this is a really well done claim. All vanilla assets, cleverly used in many places. The bathtub and mirror were particularly ingenious. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much! It really means a lot hearing that. :D I was worried about using just the game assets since I saw that many people were making their own. Unfortunately, I'm unfamiliar with how one would make custom assets. Looking back, I wish I would have done more research so I could make those for my plot. I am grateful for the opportunity to make this, however  :D Thank you!

Awesome to hear from you, DarkElfGuy. We got worried  ;D

There is a more recent claims map the Melchior did not too long ago, that shows many more sections as being complete.

As for Plot 34 it is mine and mine alone, I had claimed it first, Dormichigan64 had also tried to claim it, but hadn't realized it had already been claimed. He decided to make his claim strictly a dungeon that didn't have a claimed spot on the map. All the dungeons would be claimed, as they are to be suggested by the modder who claims them. So Modtown could end with several or very few dungeons.

Edit, the only dungeon I know for sure is complete is Melchior's.

Ah, excellent, thanks for posting that map and the dungeon info!

Dungeon 3 was claimed by me a few months ago. It's done and I uploaded it almost one month ago.

Thanks for the update :)

I looked at the dungeon threads and it seems like all of the dungeons have been claimed. It is as such

Mzark Arkngleft - Fulgore (Completed)
Smuggler's Den - Autoclock (His thread doesn't mentioned if the dungeon is completed, does anyone know if that's the case?)
Tower of Baelgon - Melchoir Dahrk (This thread also doesn't say)
Zalonbael - Darkelfguy (The thread only mentions it being 38% complete)
Dzrethurzch -- Dormichigan64 (The original post for this thread says the dungeon is on Plot 34, which has also been claimed by LadyPhoenixFireRose. DarkElfGuy confirmed both submissions, so I don't know if that was an error on his part or if Dormichigan64 and LadyPhoenixFireRose were working together. I looked at the dates though and Dormichigan64 claimed the plot first on July 16, 2015 and LadyPhoenixFireRose claimed it May 4, 2016)

As you can tell, excluding Fulgore's, I can't tell which dungeons have and have not been completed. If anyone on the forums knows for certain which have or have been completed, let me know as soon as possible,

Thanks :)

I took the plot map for Modtown, went through the "Modder Claims" thread and made a list of what plots that have and have not been claimed. Sorry for the poor quality. The idea hit me in the wee hours of the morning, and I felt the urge to get it out there as soon as possible (that's why some of the names are highlighted in white). It seems like a good portion of the town proper is yet to be claimed. I'll probably make a separate list for the public plots sometime. I hope this helps us know where we are.

Hopefully we can get this going again. Hate to see all this effort and team spirit go to waste  :'(
Nice to see a post from you, and we're all in agreement about this. We're trying to rally ourselves back together (though you have probably noticed) and centralize again. I do regret that we didn't catch this sooner, then it might have been not as serious had we acted a month or two ago instead of now. I do think that we need another admin who can be more active in the project, as the other admins seem to be more busy with other projects and we need daily checkups and communication rather than periods of silence such as this.

Onto work that needs to be done - we could definitely update to see what else needs to be done. I still believe we should cut ambition of the project as there is a lot more than our small team can handle right now, we expected to get more than who actually showed up unfortunately (and which nobody can be blamed for). We have a map that is similar to what we might have from a few months ago on these forums though.

We will succeed in the end, there is nothing in the way besides size and motivation, the latter of which I have plenty of right now.  :)

I think we can get things back together, we just need an active admin, like you said. Someone to start adding due dates, creating demo events, encouraging members to stay active, and figuring out what plots still need to be completed

I agree with you on that ambition comment. We really need to just focus on what we already have, instead of burning our energy adding content. Quality over quantity you know? Also, anyone remember the map of Modtown listing the plots? I had an idea of something like that, but it also included updated information on who was working on what plot and what was available for grabbing. This could also help us discard plots that no one is interested in using (I think I heard someone on the forum talk about using these plots as gardens?) Lastly, being better organized will give us a good idea of how much time we'll be able to finish the project. I know it seems like a lot of clerical work and not a lot of modding, but one of the major complaints of Modtown was that no one knew what was going on.

A lack of feedback from the admins was what caused me to start becoming apathetic to the project, but I'm glad to see people still interested. It makes me want to do major renovations to my plot  :D (must reel back ambition)

It's sad to see people going from the project, but I understand why. I came into this expecting regular email updates, updates to the forum, etc. Which is what we got in the beginning, but as the release date got expanded the admins grew quieter. It's been kinda frustrating. Personally, I'm wondering what buildings in the town proper still need to be constructed, who's building them, how many plots are actually done, and how many people are still interested in working on the project.

I think maybe we should have another demo, and have everyone post what they made so far. Then make an updated map of Modtown, labeling what plots are still needing to be completed, which are done, and which are being worked on. I guess the gist of what I'm saying is before we go any further we should figure out how much work is left to be done.

Hopefully we can get this going again. Hate to see all this effort and team spirit go to waste  :'(

I'm getting close to being done, I have a few more small details to finish up (more clutter to add and documents to place). I haven't seen any forum post for uploading finished plots, so when I get back to my home computer tomorrow, I'll post my Modtown plot here. However, if we end up with more time, I'll keep working and upload that version here later.

Just making sure everything's covered.  ;)

General Discussion / Re: TES 6

It's a pretty well-known mod for Oblivion, but ...

http://www.theassimilationlab.com/forums/files/file/1070-elsweyr-anequina/

It sucked that The Elsweyr Anequina mod was never finished (or at least all the buildings given interieors). All the assets were really good and the city of Dune was amazing to explore. If I remember correctly it was deleted from tesnexus, but I'm happy to see a link for the mod still exists.
