NPC and Book Creation / {NPC] Head Pack for NPC Emporium
« on: July 30, 2015, 11:19:35 AM »
The head and hair mesh and texture files from GhanBuriGhan’s World of Faces mod have been attached to a simple ESP with 10 AI/Service cleaned clones. ). You can either create NPC’s directly from the clones or change the ID on an existing NPC, adjusting  the head/hair combos from the hundreds available. , and drag/drop into your Target ESP.

As noted in the ReadMe this mod gives you a huge selection of heads/hair but does not guarantee that your selections are unique from the choices of other modders. If uniqueness is important you should check out ‘NPC Faces’ by broder_fisk on this forum

General Discussion / Re: TES 6
« on: July 28, 2015, 02:43:39 PM »
Valenwood would be my first choice if Bethesda could capture the province and politics the way they’re described in the book series “A Dance in the Fire”

Black Marsh would be my second choice if Bethesda would throw out the bland art depicting the Argonians as humans looking like bipedal semi-lizards, ‘retool’ them as Asian Dragons (arms too short to swing a sword but as magical as all giddyup) and depict the province as described in the Argonian books.

Hammerfell would be my third choice because the Red Guards are a somewhat conflicted race between North African and Afro-American and deserve a unique, definitive province.

Lastly, would be to abandon the current TES timeline and do the Dwemer culture back in the times when they were the secular terror on Tamriel as the Assyrians were in Biblical times. That would neatly tie together the Dwemer ruins scattered across the continent without having to redo the landscapes, flora, and fauna that’s already been created.

Modding Tutorials / Re: NifSkope Tutorial - Survey
« on: July 24, 2015, 12:00:25 PM »
I think a tutorial using text and illustrative screen shots would be a tremendous benefit to this 'budding' modder. I would love to be able to modify some of the texture wraps on the architectural nifs so I could 'paint' my walls with text and graphics similar to what the Mayan/Egyptians/Assyrians did with their tombs and temples. Right now I have to use the fresco nifs or piece a mural together using the art wrapped on rugs and banners which can be a real pain to get them to hang properly.

NPC and Book Creation / NPC Claim for Imp Smuggler
« on: July 18, 2015, 01:22:41 AM »
I’m not sure of exactly what the format should be here so I put together a package for an NPC smuggler. I’ve left him generic at this point except for a name (Nihil Declaro), custom face and hair. He’s a level one, vanilla smuggler class, standard issue but expensive clothes and a steel tanto weapon. I’ve got a preliminary background for him for which I can expand into some greeting dialog along with level and clothing adjustments if the modder wants to use him but would like me to do the work of fleshing him out. Otherwise the modder is free to develop Nihil Declaro as he/she seems fit to do so.

I noted the discussion of RESOURCES regarding the use of the World of Faces Mod

So attached is the folder compressed with the 7z software

Resource Requests / Resource Request: World of Faces Mod
« on: July 17, 2015, 11:00:45 PM »
I want to use this collection of head/hair art assembled by GhanBuriGhan for the NPC's I've volunteered to create for other claimants to use as needed to flesh out ModTown. Will this be acceptable and will it be sufficient to credit the source mod since GhanBuriGhan identifies the artists in his collection. I cannot identify the specific artists with any degree of certainty from the nif/tex file names used and will need to rename the nif files anyway to meet the 32 character naming limitation for the directory structure I'm using (Meshes\jb_NPC_NIF\file name)

I've got the first NPC claim almost ready and I'll go ahead and submit it for the first NPC. If the World of Faces or the way I'm crediting it is not acceptable let me know and I can alter my approach.

NPC and Book Creation / Re: NPC faces
« on: July 17, 2015, 01:23:20 AM »
Hey broder_fisk - I followed up on your Nexus mod and to your recommended mod for khajitt faces and I can see I'm really out of date. These are great! Now I've just volunteered to do some NPC's for this project and for the first batch I have faces from GhanBuriGhan's World of Faces ... BUT ... I have another NPC I'm itching to do for which I can visualize an Altmer character with a definite Chinese image patterned after Fu Manchu complete with an evil Van Dyke type chin beard. His name is Midas Truncator and he is a disgraced Academic who has been expelled from The Imperial Fellowship for his radical views on the great elven migration from Aldmeris to Tamriel (there's a potential quest here). So if you can do the face we can let Darkelfguy tell us how to coordinate your art with my esp.

I await your response with my fingers twitching over my tool kit.

NPC and Book Creation / NPC Emporium
« on: July 17, 2015, 12:57:38 AM »
I’m overwhelmed by the scope of this project and way out of the league of what I’m seeing by the modders here so I’m trimming my original ambitions back (I was going to try making an ancient dweemer tomb with an Assyrian/Babylonian motif overlaying a Velothi tileset) and stick to NPC creation for the time being. I will use the vanilla bodies and NPC faces culled from GhanBuriGhan’s World of Faces Mod and submit them via esp.

I'll have the first set (Nihil Declaro an Imperial smuggler, Herodotus Defacto an Imperial quest giver, Doc Placebo an Orc charlatan, and Bogmore a bosmer poacher) in an esp including some customized character classes for each - but nothing uber. I can probably have the esp file ready in a day or two. After that I will be open to make additional NPC's and do a little writing for the newspaper.

Hi, my user name is Phobos_Jugular. The name is more by accident then by choice but its been stuck to me since the days of File Planet so I decided to keep it. I did a couple of khajiit mods way back then (actually I was surprised to find that they'd been swept into Morrowind Modding History), and had an entry into the May Modathon. Anyway I'm retired now and have gotten back into gaming and modding. After reading Darkelfguys preamble I think I might fit in one of 3 places: 1st scripting with the basic toolkit language (I see no value for script extenders if the goal is to have a mod playable by the average gamer), 2nd dungeon construction - I love playing around with Paint Shop Pro on Bethesda's tex files (GHF forum post "Show Us What You Are Working ON' has a couple of screen shots of a dungeon I did with a Mayan flavor), and 3rd I love creating and naming PC's and NPC's in MW and taking them for a spin (Charles Dickens and Anthony Trollope are my idols in this area).

So ... I'll get familiar with the structure and opportunities available and make the appropriate contact ... but I am open to being recruited in one of these areas if contacted via email.
