Title: [Modder Claim] Plot 20 -- Flash3113

I was thinking about creating a small Argonian refuge at the edge of the town. Something like the Argonian Mission in Ebonheart,
but a bit more hush hush and less "political". I also wanted to take this as an opportunity to include some Blackmarsh lore and a few
Argonian imports specifically created for this plot. This will probably be more dialogue based and not include any major quests.
I'm not sure though how far the rules on inclusion of official Elder Scrolls lore go, so if anything is wrong with the idea, please tell me
before I start. :)

I really don't see a problem with it. It's been done before with Daggerfall Books and Oblivion Books etc.

Looks good Flash, and as Melchior said there's no problem with adding in official lore.

You've probably run into the reappearing Daedric walls by now, turns out I didn't test the file enough to catch that, so I've uploaded a new version (https://www.dropbox.com/s/7x4tdx0ll1lkavu/ModTown%202015_MD_2015-7-15.001.zip?dl=0) that replaces the .Esp landmass with a .Esm, that should fix the problem and you should be able to use the same file you're already working on with it.

I see no problems with that either. It only really becomes a potential issues for adjacent claims.

I really have to do a lot of reading up on the UESP and the Imperial Library so I can ensure that everything is as lore-correct as possible. :)

Are interior cells that are not named "Modtown 2015, XXX" fine? In this case it would be "Strange Vision" for a quest concerning the pure hist sap.

That's what makes it so fun, but at the same time very difficult. In official Elder Scrolls lore Argonians are a bit brushed aside, so I have to work with little information. I still try to remain very lore-correct, though.

Have you tried digging through stuff added by ES Online?

Yes, I've included a bit of lore from ESO, but tried to stick with what Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim had to offer. I also peeked through the lore of the books, especially The Infernal City, to find out more about Umbriel, but it plays during the 4th era and therefore long after Morrowind.

By the way, there is a nifty argonian armor (http://mw.modhistory.com/download-4-6413) mod by quorn on MMH. I thought that perhaps you would be interested to take a look. I am not sure if it is Better Bodies compatible though, but the screens look amazing. It's how argonians from Black Marsh should look like, I think.

Thanks, but the argonian models are actually from Wey's Argonians. They're not included in the plot.

Hm, I was actually going for a bleaker look. The blade is supposed to be made of bone. I think what really needs improvement is the shaft.

I like this thing. Vanilla's weapons are too short in my opinion, whilie this pole-axe has got right proportions. The shaft looks nice! The blade could probably be improved, I think.

Edit: Ah, just read that it's made of bone. This explains the shape, probably.

Excellent, here you go. Let me know of any collision issues (it happens).

In case you hadn't thought of this already, you might want to hang some flora containers off of it that give alchemical ingredients players REALLY don't want to be eating, if you know what I mean. :)

Thanks. It was one of those few models I've done where everything just... worked. I didn't go through 40 different redesigns, like usual. It came together just the way I wanted it to. I don't know if the Hist actually look like something you would find in an otherworldly swamp, but they're supposed to be extraterrestrials, possibly even from another universe, so it made sense to go that route. I know that the Blackwood Company in TES IV have a Hist tree, but I avoided looking at it when I made mine, as I didn't want that influencing me. Then when I did look at it, I saw that it wouldn't have anyway, since the Hist in OB looks like any other tree. Boooooooooooriiiiiiing.

So, after a while I'm posting a bit of progress. Here are a few screenshots of the strange dream, a place where you "have to go" during a quest concerning the hist sap.

The tree is very dark in itself, but this place simply isn't finished yet.

Also, I am implementing a token system for my plot. For every quest you complete you get a sizable amount of tokens. You can also get a small amount of tokens for repeatable quests. These tokens are used to purchase certain rewards.

I'm done with this plot, but I'm not sure if I eradicated every bug. It would be nice if 1 or 2 people would quickly play through the quests and the token system.

I tested out the claim. Everything seems to be working well. And I have to say... I really really liked the token system. And the tokens themselves were visually great. What do you think about them being used elsewhere in the city too? Maybe if you complete the "quest" in my claim, then you'll find a few tokens in the final vault room. Maybe the casino could have a game that lets you use the tokens! And maybe the Consortium has something to spend them on too... just some thoughts.

The special realm you get teleported to was great by the way. I especially loved the "bone buds". And I'm always all for new items - so all the new stuff was fun to find. Does someone sell the Argonian Dinnerware set though? I didn't notice if they did.

Well, first of all: thanks for testing it out. It would be great if the tokens would be used elsewhere. I actually wanted to propose this, but thought that the other modders were already too deep into development to implement this system. The argonian dinnerware is purely cosmetic, but if you want I can still implement a vendor that sells the set. The idea behind the hist bark is that the pieces were carefully peeled of the hist tree as to not hurt it. That's probably why the model looks a bit too smooth?

That would be nice. The token system I implemented is actually purely dialogue. Take a look at Tokey's dialogue branches for reference. I may make a few items to buy with the token system for other plots to use.

PS: It would also be good to give a few tokens as reward in other quests, because the tokens you get in my plot probably won't be sufficient to buy all items.

Good, I was thinking a dialogue-based token too (I think writing the scripts without dialogue would be a bit too complex), I'll look at Tokey's branch regarding how much certain items cost (in tokens) so I know what to set the token prices to. Perhaps I could do a little interactive dialogue and make it so you could "convince" others for their tokens as well.  :P

I think that should be fine. Make your changes and I'll merge it in. If there is any duplication or something, I'll try to deal with it.

They look nice, Flash! I wonder if maybe they could be part of a "community pot" or something. Where if you're at the Community Consortium you can throw 50 Tokens into the pot and get a random item (most being garbage misc items - but some being special stuff like you made here) and perhaps having a small chance of winning the pot itself (random amount of tokens).

Thanks! That's actually a great idea. I can create a few more trinkets to use, but my scripting skills are pretty mediocre and I don't know if I would be able to pull that off. Better if someone else would do that.

I also posted another item in the gallery. If they are decent enough I can keep doing them.

Just kidding. I'll see about it getting merged in. It'll be a good test for seeing how well the master file will update itself rather than duplicating things. I have a feeling if you moved or deleted things then it will duplicate it. I can try deleting your plot manually from the master file and THEN merging your new one in. We'll make it work somehow.
