Guideline for NPC and Written Claims - Please Read!
« on: July 13, 2015, 10:03:01 AM »
In this forum board, you can submit any books, NPCs, articles, flavor text documents, or newspapers you'd like to be included in ModTown 2015 and they'll be implented by Melchior into the main master file. Please follow the guidelines below when submitting documents or NPCs.

Thread Titles:
[Book] - Dictates that the claim is a book (fairly self-evident)
[NPC] - Dictates that the claim is an NPC.
[Article] - Article to be included in one of the Cosmopolitan Weekly  newspapers.
[Newspaper] - A complete Cosmopolitan Weekly newspaper sheet.
[Text] - Any flavor text, notes, or other documents.
[Dialogue] - Independent dialogue entries not included with an NPC.

Outline for Making Claims:

A book claim can include anything you want, from political essays to modder histories to personal journals. Keep in mind these should be related to modders, modding, Morrowind, or just the general Tamriel universe in some fashion. Try and correct any grammatical or spelling mistakes before posting, though we'll also have a reviewer go through it first before adding it to the main file.

Submission Form:

Book Title:
Skills Associated (Please Specify)
Book Value:

An NPC claim can be either a miscellaneous NPC, an in-game representation of a player (aka mod-user), or an avatar of a modder. If you're making a modder claim, you can just include any NPCs you want in that modder claim, NPC claims are more for people who would rather not go through the hassle of making an interior or exterior claim.

Submission Form:

NPC Name:
Include House? (yes/no) (This specifies whether you want the NPC to have a home in ModTown. If you select yes, a public building claim will be made where someone can build a house for your NPC or add your NPC to an existing house)
ESP Attached (yes/no) (Note: You can create your own NPC in the CS and upload the file using the file attachment feature on the forums. You can ignore the rest of this form if you choose to do so):
NPC Race (Note: You can request the use of a modder race if you wish):
NPC Gender:
NPC Class (Note: You can make your own class, preferably with a dialogue description):
NPC Level:
NPC Clothing/Armor/Items (Specify the types of items to include):
Dialogue (include any dialogue topics you want included with this NPC here. Organize dialogue by starting with the name of the topic (use greeting for the standard player hello) followed on the next line by the dialogue you wish to include):
NPC Location (if no house is selected, you can specify where you want your NPC, either in a certain public building or out about town):

Flavor Texts:
A flavor text claim can be a note, pamphlet, torn page, or some other scattered documentation. Again, if you're making a modder claim, you don't really need to make another claim for this.

Submission Form:

Document Name:
Document Content:
Document Value:
Document Type (Ledger, Note, Parchment, Pamphlet):

Currently, we're planning to have an in-game newspaper that's unique to ModTown 2015. The rather undecided name at this point is the Cosmopolitan Weekly. These papers cover events in ModTown, both before and after the player arrives. You can make a claim to write one of these newspaper issues, and each one should include 3~4 articles and a couple of advertisements. Articles can be about anything potentially going on in town, or about particular modder residents. In general, just try and have fun with writing these!

Submission Form:

Issue #:
Article Names and Content:

For those who don't want to write an entire newspaper issue, you can write a single article to be included in a newspaper issue instead. This is pretty much the same as a newspaper claim, just smaller.

Submission Form:

Article Name:
Article Content:

Occasionally, you may want to submit a dialogue claim separately from any other claim, particularly if it's a generic dialogue topic (aka, one all of the NPCs of ModTown will talk about) or if you're providing dialogue for an existing NPC that has no dialogue. You can also submit generic dialogue topic entries, like Latest Rumors, Little Secret, etc... that will be filtered for the NPCs of ModTown.

Submission Form:

Dialogue Topic Name:
Dialogue Entry Content:
Specific NPC (leave blank if not for a specific NPC):
Covers all NPCs in ModTown (yes/no):

If you have any questions about these submission forms, or if we're missing any details that need to be covered, please post them below!

I'm not sure I have understand, if I want to create a book that will be in my house, do I have to create a thread for it here ? Or are this thread only for main quest/public areas ?

You don't need to post it here then. This would really be for what you say, books you would like to be included outside of your own claim.
