Oblivion Mod of the Month – January 2018

Today for the Oblivion Mod of the Month, we’re taking a look at some of the best mods of January 2018, including scenic overhauls and a surprising number of housing-related mods. January was a fairly quiet month for the Oblivion modding community, but there’s still some rather interesting mods in today’s lineup for you to check out!

Our mod of the month for January 2018 is The Imperial Real Estate By Lametrie,a fairly massive and vanilla-friendly housing mod that makes it possible to now purchase the homes of more than 37 NPCs after they’ve been killed or run-away or disappeared during the course of one questline or another, and these homes are located all across Cyrodiil, and they’ve had ownership properties removed and safe-containers added in. All of this makes The Imperial Real Estate a lore-friendly and extensive housing mod, and that also makes it our Mod of the Month for January 2018.

Second choice for mod of the month is Frostcrag Castle By Ray75228, a rather beautiful overhaul of the famed Frostcrag Spire along the mountainous border between Cyrodiil and Skyrim, turning this class wizard’s tower into a proper castle, complete with scenic gardens, waterfalls, and statues, and it’s really just an incredibly nice-looking exterior overhaul, though it only changes the outside of the tower, the interior has been left completely the same. Still, it’s a beautiful and scenic mod, and that makes it a worthwhile second pick for the mod of the month.

Finally, our third choice for the mod of the month is Imperial Palace Improvement By Marob307, and this is a bit of an immersion overhaul for the Imperial Palace, adding some much needed rooms, like a kitchen and throne room, as well as adding some 35 new NPCs, including other councilors outside of just High Councilor Ocato, who have regular schedules with council sessions and other bits of business to attend to. This mod really fleshes out the Imperial Palace a lot more and makes it a more bustling place, and for that it deserves our third pick for the mod of the month.

Cities of Cyrodiil – Oblivion Town Mods – Episode 10 – Sutch Mods

Video Series Description:
Cities of Cyrodiil is a new series that’ll look at about three different town mods for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion every month with a number of different looking cities and villages with a ton of different styles that’ll help populate the countryside. Oblivion has an absolute ton of town mods for it, considerably more than other games in the series like Morrowind, and part of that may be due to the under-populated nature of Cyrodiil in vanilla Oblivion, which when compared to Vvardenfell in Morrowind, is surprisingly sparse with few towns or villages in-between the major cities of the province. Hopefully with this new series you’ll find a ton of towns to help populate the Cyrodiil countryside so that it really feels like the capital province and not just some backwater.

In today’s episode, we’re taking a look at the three big Sutch mods in the community, each of which aims to add the planned, but for whatever reason forgotten city to the Imperial Province after Bethesda cut it out. Each of these three mods has a very different take on Sutch, and we’ll be looking at all of them side by side. Including the popular and incredibly scenic yet small ImpeREAL Empire Unique Cities – Sutch By SilentResident – Fallout301 – Knightspk2 – Mhahn123, the spread out and sort of newer Sutch Village By Arthmoor and Hanaisse, and the, comparatively underrated yet massive and beautiful Dragon Captions – County Sutch – Sutch City By the Dragon Captions Team and Biulding3015.

Oblivion House Mod Hunters – Episode One

Oblivion House Mod Hunters is a series dedicated to showing off three random house mods for Oblivion each week in three different categories (Popular, New and Underrated), with the goal of showing off the features, locations, and styles that each house provides. Since almost everyone needs a house mod of some sort for their characters, and with a few thousand house mods out there for Oblivion, it’s easy to miss a cool house mod that you may well enjoy, so my hope is that with this series, we’ll be able to spotlight some house mods that you may not have considered before while also making it easier for you to decide on a house mod for your own play-through of Oblivion.

In this first episode, we’re taking a look at the extremely popular Red Rose Manor mod by Emma, the new house mod Lone Wolf Cottage by ex-Morrowind modder Srdjan Pokorni (Spokorni), and the underrated Bond’s Skyship mod by Bond.
